Make Money from Home

Are you looking for a way to work for yourself from home? To define, let's get clear first on exactly what you are looking for.

Are you looking to:

a) build a "brick and mortar" business, meaning that you will be working with actual products and interact physically with people?

b) build a business online on the Internet to make money from home.

If you are looking to build a physical business from home doing sewing, baking manufacturing pottery etc, may I suggest that you do a search at a bookstore like Amazon.com. They have plenty of books on just about any business that you can think of doing from home. Most of these kind of books are written by people who are already running their own successful businesses on the topic that they are writing about and you can learn a lot from them.

If you are looking to find work from home doing typing, surveys, computer work, assembly work, affiliate marketing opportunities, reading email, placing ads etc, first a warning:

I would urge to you be very careful before selecting an opportunity, because there are a lot of scams out there.

There are a lot of sites that offer typing work, which you have to pay for before they will send you "assignments". Once you receive your "assignment" they have various rules and requirements that you have to follow to the letter before submitting your typing back to them. More often than not, you will probably receive a letter from them that your typing was not up to their required standard - even when you know you followed every instruction to the letter.

The end result? You don't get paid for your work and they have your registration fee safely in their back pockets. Most of these companies don't have real clients, so the "assignment" that they sent you was completely bogus and just a means for them to get their hands on your hard earned money.

If you are looking for assembly work, craft projects e.g knitting jerseys, booties, blankets, etc - re-read the warning above. Most of the companies that offer these kind of projects also send you bogus assignments, in the end rejecting your work. You will probably find that you have to sell the products that you made yourself - something that they did not tell you when you first registered.

Becoming an adplacer is even worse. You also have to pay for the "privilige" of joining the site, then all you do is place ads for more people to place ads. That is a typical pyramid scam.

Doing online surveys can make you a bit of money, but I wouldn't count on it making me rich. You should watch out for sites that ask you for payment to access their databases "with hundreds of companies that will pay you do surveys". You don't need to pay to find companies that will pay you for taking surveys. All you have to do is put in a bit of work and you will be able to find them yourself. Do a search on one of the search engines like Google for "get paid for your opinion". You will find loads of genuine companies that will not charge you to sign up for their surveys.

The best way to make money from home

However, the best way to make money from home is still to have your own website, centred around your own products, hobby or interests. For example, say you have a keen interest in cross stitching. You can create your own website where you can display your work, your own cross stitch designs, or even sell your designs to other people.

You can give hints and tips on how others can improve their own cross stitching products. If you don't have designs or products to sell, look for cross stitching companies that will pay you to sell their products for them as an affiliate. You can apply these ideas to anything you have an interest in.

Finally, apply for the Adsense program from Google, and you will have a website to be proud of as well as an excellent vehicle to earn a good income from the comfort of your own home.

I hope you find these tips informative, and that it will help you get started on building a successful home based business of your own!
